Hey guys/gals..

So last night I fixed the e-mail server issues so mail should be correctly routed/delivered from here on out (it'll be from admin@turkerhub.com if you want to whitelist it). The biggest change here is that new users may actually be able to register/post now, since the majority of their confirmation e-mails were straight up being blocked by a myriad of different servers.

Only reason I'm mentioning it now is because at the sites creation the default watch status was to send e-mails for threads you were watching/subscribed to. I've gone ahead and run a small batch update on the database that set everyone who was still receiving watch emails to disabled. If you do actually want e-mails for threads you post to / subscribe to / etc you can head to your account preferences and check the "Automatically watch threads that you create or when you reply... and receive email notifications of replies" boxes. You're welcome to use this feature, I just didn't want to be spamming folks because of a poorly designed default setting from 2 months ago.

Also, as promised, the keyword alert add-on has now been enabled for everyone. You can manage/set your alerts for that here. The above mentioned DB change does not affect keyword alerts so if you've already set that up you wont have to do anything.

no one knows when it gets busy again?

 

Mturk is very unreliable. I could tell you it gets busy tomorrow because last year I had a 200.00 day on that day but it doesn't mean a damn thing, if you know what I'm saying. There is not set time it's busy or not busy. It's a toss up.

 

It's not the best idea to rely solely on MTurk - there are hints of behavior but nothing I would bank on.

 

Surveys will usually tend to follow school open/close trends..
Holidays = slower than normal as a rule of logic.
Everything else just depends on your quals, scraper settings, and attention span.

 

Thanks guys. Just saw that it got harder to hit my goal lately. Seems like I had to beat the hits off with a stick a month or so ago.
