I contemplated watching it yesterday. The reviews made me say nope. I have liked a lot of the new Cruise movies though, so I dunno.

 

I avoid remakes out of principle. I'm not saying all remakes are bad, but I hate the idea of just cashing in on people's nostalgia instead of going out there and making something new.

 

I know, you ranted on it once here and everyone was like 'let people enjoy things' and you were like 'why do people always say that to me'

 

My daughter is the exact same way.. won't watch a remake! LOL.

 

Yeah thats sort of my angle. His recent movies were mostly good even if they were just popcorn fare fluff. He's good in action films. And the trailer looked all right. Im thinking if I keep my expectations very low, it'll do lol

 

I think American made with Cruise in it looks really good.

 

Last thing I saw that Cruise was good in was Tropic Thunder. In fact, he was GREAT in that. So was everyone, but especially him.

Pineapple Express is one of my favorite movies. Probably my favorite in the stoner comedy genre lol. The Edge of Tomorrow was really good imo

 

I think you mean, Tropic Thunder lol. But Edge of Tomorrow was really good and Oblivion was p good.

 

I heard making this remake was risky business, some even said it was mission impossible, and that he just cruised through it for the money, since he isn't the top gun anymore in Hollywood.
