It's actually really fun. I've been to a few.

Cool. So people can listen to different music but dance at the same time.

I've been to one my friends called the Silent Circus (after lights out hrs at a music fest) where it was an actually band playing, not just a DJ. The ones with DJs are cool but not my vibe really--though I went to a house party with one that had three different channels. That one was more just like a normal house party but you had to put on headphones to listen to music.
