Ok, I've got a late 2009 15.4" Macbook Pro that I'm probably going to replace soon. What's the consensus on Macbook vs. Macbook Pro these days? I really don't think I need that touchbar thingy.

I've never had a macbook, but was just hanging out with my developer buddy the other day, and he hates the touchbar/giant touchpad.

 

Lol yeah, I told him we would be getting movers otherwise I would lose my mind. We don't have that much to pack cause the house is mostly furnished so we put most of our stuff on the farm in a storage container, but even the idea of it is making me twitchy.

His first "interview," with the company was getting smashed in the beer tent at Airventure with what turns out to be the VP and like some other fancy people who run the place, who liked him so much he didn't even follow through with the first interview, said they knew enough about him already, and just called him to ask if he could fly out next week on their dime.

Let that sit with you for a minute, Matt got a second interview with a company by shotgunning beers with important people before his interview and is just that cool they are flying him out to see the company now.

 

I had to sell it to pay bills but the Dell XPS might be a good replacement if you are looking for a high end laptop. It has a really sexy bezel and is pretty snappy and light.

A dell XPS is nowhere near the build/quality of a MAC

 

I may be in the minority but I really like OSX.
