do your best to create a consistent routine for him and give him whatever his favorite reward is whenever he goes (special treats if he's food motivated, play time and extra praise if he's not, etc)

 

I wish my dog went in the same spot in my lawn over and over. I leave it wherever it she goes and every day and she basically says, "nope, going over here now, dad." Every week I play Minesweeper with a shovel in my backyard.
