    Ah that makes sense.. personally I budgeted for gifts . ... and I haven't actually been able to get a credit card anyways. not that I really care that much having one.

    I was personally waiting until the new year to start working. I had a job from Feb-early December, so I only made ~$250 turking and didn't want to have my refund cut. But now that I'm unemployed again, I'm back.

    CapitalOne is generally good for a first credit card. Might have an annual fee to start out but after a few months you can jump on their chat and ask if there are any upgrades available.
