My relative from Massachusetts called me about the storm because they were worried about me. They know I live in West Texas, but I guess the size of the doesn't translate well to people that live in the northeast. "Houston is 850 miles away, Auntie Bee, I'll be okay. Plus, it's already been a couple days, so thanks for checking on me after I would have already drowned."

lol no, the sizes of the south do not translate to the north east. Everyone down south was like "oh just go to greenville"...it was 35 minutes away and that was considered a reasonable distance to travel for dinner....

I couldn't get over that 20-30 minutes to get somewhere was considered normal.....

I guess I'm just spoiled living in a big city, but even in CT, NOTHING was more than an hour away tops

I wasn't at all, it was adorable. I just couldn't believe that 35 minutes one way was a normal commuting distance tis all. I'd be driving for over an hour just for food. It boggled my mind.

 

I live at the midpoint between Houston and Los Angeles along I-10. Houston is the same state and LA is three states away. Texas is really big.

 

I guess that the turkerhub mating ritual dating app must be almost finished going by those flails.

 

I mean, don't live in a rural town if you don't want to drive 30 minutes to get to the city? Pretty much just that.

I mean, I lived in a much more dense place and would still drive 30 minutes if the restaurant I wanted to go to was 30 minute away, and the traffic was way worse soooo.

I mean, it's not as if Anderson doesn't have plenty of very nice restaurants downtown so you don't actually have to go to Greenville for dinner.

 

That's us in WYOMING. Drive 30 minutes for baseball practice 3 days a week plus games.. no lie.. and just as far for a shake. That's ok.. we can always go to the big city. My daughter does "order up" and it fascinates me. LOL
