Monday was awesome. Tuesday sucked. Today's so-so so far- I'll reserve judgement after my second cup of coffee.

 

I understand what you're saying but I suppose you lose all creative control when giving someone else the green light to produce a movie based on your book unless otherwise specified? Not quite sure how any movie making clauses work in those regards.

But I'm also not quite sure how you can measure any level of "cerebrally" made movies or stories based on "how they actually are" Because if something is obviously made allegoric in nature, how is it you measure that without really knowing the creators initial level of intention? Doesn't seem like something you can scale on some type of meter.

I mean, many people would disagree with you as Kubrick's movies to this day are still deeply speculated by many as to what their original intent of meaning/message was.

 

Yeah! Thank you though! I should watch it again. I'm a big horror fan, and The Shining is my #1. My AOL screenname was "redrum" from like 7th grade on, lol. The documentary is great and makes so much sense, and goes right along with how I have a difficult time with people hating on remakes/re-envisions/interpretations/etc. All versions and interpretations are welcome in my heart because it just means I get to see the same story represented over and over again, and see how other people see them, and that just gives me more content to enjoy. And if I don't like it, I gasp don't have to watch it again. Kubrick's happens to be amazing, and very Kubrick of him, and I love it.
