I did two CI hits today, for a grand total of 2 cents. This means I've earned enough to give my opinion:
I am cautiously excited for both the new Star Trek series and The Orville, for similar, but different reasons. Talk amongst yourselves.

I spent the rest of my morning doing actual work, and writing a cover letter for that job, for which I've now applied. That job was posted at around 5K more a year than I make now.

So my PE today, if that works out, is $5000.02.

 

CIs were interesting. Way, way more food than I remember and I didn't do that many this time. Whole Foods effect already? Thinking yes.

Nevermind. Lasted about 2 minutes through multiple refreshes then came back.

 

Not even specific to just him but that entire mechanism where the ending is either missing and you have to guess what happened or is so quizzical you're supposed to guess the intention of the filmmaker. For me movies are entertainment. It's a block of time to get enveloped in a story line, relate to the characters (or despise them), and not worry about anything else. When it's over life resumes. I don't want to watch a movie that I have to dissect and think about for weeks after lol. I don't want to write a dissertation on the hidden meanings of beetlejuice. A lot of really weird ones lead to a lot of really weird theories and most of them dead end in a big pit of tin foil lol.

I'm always hopeful and never optimistic about new Star Trek series lol. I'm actually mostly concerned about CBS hiding it in All Access. The little bit of other original content on that platform has been.... less than stellar lol.

The Orville looks good.
