Uh, if he doesn't wanna hire movers, then HE'S THE MOVER. Tell him you'll go and buy the boxes so he can get started on the massive undertaking he refuses to hire anyone to help with. And be annoying and remind him every time he tries to relax or watch TV that he has to do the packing since he wants to be cheap about it.

 

@Hummingbirdee, you need to just take a break and stop. He takes you for granted and you do a lot more than most women would. No special morning coffee, and no warm dinner because you are too busy trying to pack a house that you literally just unpacked and arrange everything else. He can not have it all and should not expect you to do it all!

 

I told him to hire movers to put everything on the truck if he wants to drive it across the country so badly and then we can hire people to move it off the truck in Cali. That seems like a reasonable compromise. Most of our stuff is still packed and on the farm but the house still has a solid amount of stuff in it too and the farm is an hour away. I have to drive 5 pets across the country, the logistics of which I'm still unclear about. I've tried to convince him that we should just borrow one of our friend's nicer planes to fly them to a little public airport within an hour of the town, which is easy enough to do and we know enough people with planes big enough. Because, we have 5 friggen pets and Im thinking about how insane driving them 2200 miles will be ALONE. Just me, driving across the country with the entire brood.

Yeah, so, I'm gonna take a break from trying to find a decent rental house that doesn't blanket ban cats while simulantaneously panicking he will want to move again in 4 months.

 

I'm about to move 2 cats 2000 miles across the country alone and I'm freaking out about that - adding 3 more animals into the mix, that's even worse. But we'll get through it, I think. I think.
