Whats so sad is that Drugs fuel so many government agencies including your local police department. The government grants money to local police departments based on how many drug busts they do. Not on how many rapes, or murders they solve. The whole fight against illegal drugs fuels local police agencies. It buys them new weapons and training and more feet on the street. There is a Documentary called "How to make money selling drugs" that drills it all down :
