Gah... That's one of the only good things about this state. We only go to the DMV once at 16, or I think it might be 17 or 18 now, to take the written and driving exams to get the initial paper to get our license. Takes hours... after that as long as you don't let it expire for more than 30 days you can get your license or renew it at any of 100 tag agencies in town and you're in and back out with your license in under 20 minutes usually.
