    Arrgh! Anyone else originally from frequent hurricane areas feeling in a perpetual state of anxiety (more like "what am I forgetting; what do I need to do; I'm forgetting something important) with Harvey just passed and Irma on the way? I'm from the central gulf coast of Louisiana and I keep having increasing anxiety over what my brain has hardwired into thinking I should be doing, even though I've been in the midwest for over 7 years now. Had to take a xanax tonight because I'm just so. freaking. wired.

    Note: I look at Irma and I see Andrew, destroying Homestead, FL and then hitting my hometown in LA dead on; it was my first hurricane as an adult, and it looked an awful lot like this.

    I used to live in DFW area, so I've been around during tornado season. It was not fun. I still remember when a tornado went right into to the Bank One building in downtown Fort Worth. 80% of the windows were destroyed. Can't say I miss it.

    I think "hurricane prep" gets so ingrained in your mindset that you just can't turn it off. But since there's nothing for me to do - no packing, no shopping, no boarding windows, etc. - I'm just sitting here on my ass, but feeling like I NEED to be doing something.
