09/12 - Tingly Tuesday!

I've used marble and granite boards for pastry/bread dough. Marble is good for pastry and pie crust because it stays chilled and your dough is way easier to work with. For that reason, it's not good to try and let bread dough rise on a marble board! You can get a granite board, and they aren't expensive, I just want one I didn't have to fuss around with. They also have granite pans meant for cooking with! I like to bake my breads on a baking stone most of the time, but I was looking at getting a granite stone for my oven so I could just transfer bread straight in.

Basically, I spend way too much time cooking.

You and me both. Someone should just follow me around playing yakity sax, cause instead of finding my cat, I've found: snakes, armadillos, racoons, possums, angry feral cats, angry stray dogs, angry people with guns, downed power lines.

So, you could say it's been a shitty week so far.

He hasn't been seen since the weekend, but he likely went into hiding because of the storm. We do have a problem with the neighbors who have a super pissed off dog that breaks his chain and mauls things every so often. He broke his chain this weekend. I'm not feeling great at all about it, I'm more concerned he just won't show up until we are across the country. The town fb has a notice up about him with pictures, animal control and the shelter know he's missing, the town discussed him at the church and at the town meeting. I really have to believe someone will find him or we will catch him at some point. I had a minor meltdown when the storm got bad because I couldn't even think about him out there. Matt feels worse and worse because as he said, "If you love someone, you should definitely lose the thing they love most in the world..."
