There are a few gaming laptops that allow it but you need to stay wtihin the TDP that the laptop allows and you are also extremely limited.

Could be the POS PSU in your old crapbox or viruses on your computer.

Really a lot of things. I doubt it is your ram though unless you have faulty memory.

I'd say you got your money's worth on that one. I think longevity is one of the things people overlook with Macbooks.

I find older computers usually start flaking because of heat problems which is very common for rebooting. The more scripts you run the hotter your CPU gets and if your ventilation is no longer optimal from dust and general wear and tear it starts breaking down performance.

I think the bigger question is why would a homeless person need a laptop?

True dat bro, I was just saying laptops aren't totally perm in every facet, and let's be serious, not everyone is gonna really need to upgrade their video card very much or will even do it if they have a desktop.

I was mostly playing a bit of devil's advocate though. I do like my laptop though, it suits my needs well enough.

Yeah like we said the ram isn't the issue.

I mean.. my workflow uses a lot of ram but that is because I have long uptimes of many weeks with huge log files.

hmmm interesting ... so typically 4 gigs of ram should be sufficient enough to run mulitple scripts?
