I mean, considering he has told me he thinks most people are less intelligent than him? I'm gonna go ahead and say he thinks he just knows best.

And honestly, that's fine if someone wants to think that, but it doesn't make them right. People can choose to interact with other people in a polite and thoughtful way, and mayhaps learn from past experience how to get along with someone or when to just stop saying dumbfuck shit BUT if not, then they can I dunno, either deal with getting the finger or stop talking to that person.
