The combined effect of everyone's preference makes the AI much smarter after parsing massive amounts of data. The machines start adapting in unpredictable ways, which is what they want.

I actually read it the same way at first, I thought he was saying he found Bearnie and the message was "from him" but it was actually Bearnie typing or something.. like a "Surprise! Found your cat!" thing.

I mean, in my head it wasn't a joke and he really did catch Bearnie. Gave him a bath and had him all nice & cozy on the bed as a "sorry I let your cat out the window" penance.

But then she posted the two cats side-by-side, and I realized RA had egg on his face & I got by unscathed.
