Ya know, I used to say that too but I have ascended to the ultimate cat lady form. Mostly, I wanted to be able to use a car buckle leash for him while we are driving across the country so he can look out the window and if he's chill enough, possibly take dorky photos of him in front of landmarks.

We've gone outside on his collar/leash before, he usually just wanted to lay in the grass a bit and go back inside, but I'm worried he might be more curious about the outdoors after his little excusion and I'd rather be an insane cat lady and keep him from getting hurt, than risking him trying to bolt out a door or something.

Mostly the car trip thing, but I'd be lying if I'd say I was totally unwilling to walk him.

How is your kitty supposed to get exercise and enjoy the great outdoors, then?

I wish my cat would couperate that much. I put the harness on her for walking and she turns into a fainting goat.

So you'd rather your cat roam the neighborhood getting into god knows what and in general being a pest than actually take care of him?

You said exactly this. Outdoor cats are usually considered pests for a reason, and they also are one of the biggest contribution to the extinction of various wildlife. If I remember correctly, there's at least several species of bird that no longer exist due to people who are careless enough to have outdoor cats.

He was super pissed earlier, but I fed him salmon/trout jerky until he stopped making angry noises.

Matt claims that when he went out and found him in the trap, Bearnie was vicious and rabid. I think he was being a Grinch baby cause when I went out Bearnie just started yowling at me to be let out. Matt still swears he saw an evil side of Bearnie and thinks Bearnie has a demonic, wild side that enabled him to survive the mean streets of Georgia. He says Bearnie only chilled TF out when he heard my voice.

    I think he's being dramatic.

We're one of *those* people :emoji_laughing:. Our cat used to be an indoor/outdoor cat before he came to live with us and he will flip out completely if we don't take him for regular walks. It's super cut down on the instances where he tries to make a break for any open door.

I actually just did, and it does appear that I may be missing emails for roughly $3 worth of bonuses. Which could have just been one bonus. Or none, and my math is wrong.

    Solid contribution of almost information.

Then why did you even respond? People who just let their cats outdoors whenever generally tend to be irresponsible people.

Bearnie hates the velcro ones and will wiggle out of them but I did some reading and a lot of people who are active with their cats (hiking and stuff, who knew?!) use this dog harness for their cats to the point the company started marketing towards cat owners too. Bearnie seems to be far happier with this one than that Kitty Holster type the cat whisperer guy reccomended.

@Hummingbirdee I've successfully walked Charlie, but its more of a dart around kind of thing vs a walk, so it got shelved. Good luck with bearnie!
