I have no interest in taking in a ton of cats. I could say the same for you and your concern for the birds. Lots of people keep birds for pets. Some people even keep mice as pets. I did the cats a favor and made their life a little easier. They already existed, I wasn't breeding them.

 

Being concerned for the ecosystem is not the same as encouraging stray cats that contribute nothing but billions of bird deaths per year. Domestic cats are already overpopulated, and by not getting those cats fixed, you contribute directly to that overpopulation. By feeding them, by not getting them fixed, you contribute directly to the problem that domestic cats pose to the environment.

I love Usher.

 

Except, we did fix the female. The rest were shot by the neighbors. All of my pets have been and will be fixed. By feeding them, I am probably saving the birds because the cats will have less to hunt. However, I am not going to chase down every animal that people leave behind and invest money into fixing them. These particular cats came from a house 2 doors down, that I recently found out was a meth house that burned down. I am not going to watch an animal starve and die a slow, painful death. No matter how much of a nuisance some people may consider them to be.

 

They want you to spend 1-2 hours on it, but I wrote a pretty good response that was well over the necessary character count in about 30 minutes. I took my time as well.

May as well feed every single wild animal you see, then, instead of letting nature take care of it's own.

A lot of people keep exotic birds as pets. I had a pair when I was a child. However, not many people will keep wild birds that are already a native part of the ecosystem as pets, and instead introduce pests(domestic cats) that were not originally part of said ecosystem and this throws the entire thing out of whack.

 

But if you ever think of more ways to kill mosquitos feel free to kill them. They don't really play a big role and scientist have noted that we could kill them all off without many issues.
