yes dude, for a while i started mass botting but i wasn't making enough $$$ off it to make it worth my time buying proxies and crap

Believe it or not its actually growing and bigger than it was 3 years ago,

 

It introduces young kids to gambling in pretty pixel form.. not sure if there was ever a more solid business model in existence. Except maybe Starbucks' introducing them to sugar+caffeine combination.

 

It's only really worth it if you live in a third world country. I remember reading some OSRS thread about killing Venezuelans who are farming simply because botting Runescape gold is more profitable than a traditional job.

Valve has a pretty nice handle on that, as well. Their f2p model for TF2 is actually pretty great. It thrives on microtransactions, yet it's not p2w at all. Then of course you have the CSGO crate system. Also, last I checked people also still play Maplestory and other Nexon games.
