    I tried a few of these when I first started, and had a question about them, the response was something along the lines of "well, you're not doing that great, but you can finish them out if you like." :lol:

    Yes and no. Search will pull all the hits a requester posts. But it's not very effective unless you have batches that stick around for a while.

    Oh in that case. I don't think there are any millionaires here. I post high paying surveys all day long, but only after I've caught one myself. Most are limited to one per person anyhow. I think people post less batches these days. MTC is better for that.

    But that doesn't explain why people read without interacting. It only explains why they read. There are underlying social implications to lurking.

    Lurking comes from personality. I'm a lurker. Or I was everywhere on the internet until I found MTG. It was the one place I felt comfortable being involved. Anxiety does that. Speaking into the abyss is scary for some people. We think we'll be ignored. Judged. Say the wrong thing. Have it taken the wrong way. I took the risk speaking up on MTG and people didn't suck. But a lot of people won't even risk it to find out.

    You're not missing out on anything. I passed it and did them for a bit at first but even with the bonus, they aren't worth it to me. Plus, you slowly lose your qual after a while. I never changed the way I judged them and after it going to almost the highest bonus it just slowly started going down. i still have the qual but the bonus tier I'm at is not worth doing them at all.

    I feel ya on the anxiety! I have the tendency to blurt out the weirdest things cause that's how my bird brain works and people are not always nice in return. I was crazy nervous about ever posting at mtg to the point Matt thought I was joking when I said I was actually interacting and not just lurking. Even if we don't directly interact that much, I think you're fabulous!

    To all the lurkers who might see this, I will not judge you for being freaky because I am the freakiest freak there is and I'm sure that applies to most of the regulars here. (The non judgmental part at least!)
