    If I recall correctly, because we're in a state that sees hot and cold seasons, the HVAC systems are set to change around a specific time of year and they don't have free use of the controls inside the building?

    I don't know, it was something my boss once told me before I went remote. She could have been lying to get me the STFU about being cold all the time. :dunno:

    I've found news articles from Michigan, NY, and Pennsylvania now but none of them explain why. I'm curious too because its not like summer school isn't a thing (is that actually a thing?) so surely the capability to sit in a classroom despite the outside temperature exists.. right?

    A lot of schools in upstate NY don't have AC. At least they didn't when I was there. It's been a while, but I would assume it wouldn't be a high priority, considering how often it might get used.

    That seems real odd because around here, if you miss a certain amount of days, they get tacked on at the end of the school year. So to me it's like "It's too hot outside so we're going to dismiss early but we're also going to add days on during the summer when it is also hot outside."

    I grabbed all of them yesterday at once. Found out I wouldn't be able to all of them in one hour. Did one of them, returned the rest. Now I can't accept the others that I didn't do. :mad:

    Nah, they'd just shorten one of the holiday breaks here. We have days lined up throughout the year for snow (gasp!) make up days, so they never tack on extra days at the end of the school year. Unless we get like 3 blizzards in one month or some shit.

    Plus.. y'know.. kids get sent home because its too hot, to go outside and play in the heat. But what do I know, guess its better to let the parents be on the hook for heat stroke :emoji_sweat_smile:

    I mean, but it's hot everywhere. I'm in middle TN and our temps have been in the upper 90s. Unless they dont have the money in the budget for this time of year to run the A/C....
