yea, i found the anime on netflix is hit and miss, i did enjoy the old days of watching "Death Note" from a website where some japanese college student in california had done all the translations (before I started learning japanese myself). It just seemed more personal than watching it on [as]

There should never be this many pages to shift through on a Saturday.

@WimpLo that article is nice to see, its something I've been reading up on more and more trying to make the forum more "interactive" or w/e. The PandA thing is part of that; trying to get folks to interact with each other in positive ways even if its small/cheesey. So far:

5,893 PANDAs have been clicked (give or take a few for folks manually using it I'm sure).
    83 Members have received > 2 pandas
172 Unique Logged In Members have clicked a panda (we usually hover around 250 active users a day, most of them the same day to day, so that's a HUGE % of users interacting with HIT exports every day).

I took folks who only had a 1-off panda out since those could be manual "likes" and not really relevant to a HIT being posted, but:

% of Members Receiving Panda Likes% of total PandA Likes Given
    Top 3/83 Members30%
    Top 5/83 Members40%
    Top 10/83 Members59%
    Top 15/83 Members71%
    Top 25/83 Members85%
So yeah, our "top 1%" (really its 3%) holds about 30% of the "share value" of posted HITs here. Which is a long way off from the 90/10 rule, but thats to be expected since we kind of "stole" the active 10% from MTG weeks ago.

This similar article is also great insight into why daily threads are so frustrating in the mTurk community (for both vets and newbies alike). There is a lot of "low value" content posted daily, and users looking for "high value" content (PandAs, Zoltar posted?, acronym translations, etc etc) get lost or cannot be bothered/expected to wade through all the muck to find it.

Do they have both the dub and the sub on netflix again? I know they have been bad about that sort of thing.

Although not through streaming fansubs still exist although the quality bar is much higher then it used to be. It is also a smaller group of people doing it now as all the garbage shows nobody wants to do a fresh translation for they can just let crunchyroll do it and focus on shows that they care about more.

If anyone just wants to watch subbed anime legally though crunchyroll is most likely the best place to do it and FUNimation has the dubs these days.

The real question is: When do I get my panda badge for most pandas? I will share a billion HITs for a panda badge (must have panda face)

@ChrisTurk It's all the anime talk. It needs a separate sub. :bananabat:

True, anime is a thing most people are either really into or don't want to hear about at all. Maybe we can have an 'anime filter' for the thread lol

You're the worst type of person! :hitwithrock: hahaha

It totally doesn't matter. You currently account for <1% of total PandA likes lol. The nature of them being "automatic" on exports goes a very long way to filtering out "noise" of people trying to have fun with them :)

    Greetings from Amazon Mechanical Turk,

You've received a bonus from HubPages for work related to 3OJX0UFJ0Z7RTVA9JZ9Z6T9K29SU9U.
The value of your bonus is: $0.25 USD

    The Requester included this note:
This is a bonus for completing the HubPages screening test. Thanks for trying our HITs. Unfortunately, your rating style is a bit different from what we are looking for, so you won't be able to complete our regular rating HITs. (Most people do not pass our screening test.) However, we will probably be introducing new types of HITs in the future, and we invite you to work on those after we create them. Have a great day!

Thanks for being a Worker on Mechanical Turk!

    :rain:

I mostly just ask because I don't try and force either way on people unless I'm talking in a community that is dedicated to anime like /r/anime or something like that.

We could have an anime thread but the hard part is getting people to use anything that isn't the daily thread.

Note you'll still get paid if you don't get to play. And you'll be able to keep accepting it until you do get to play

Yeah, I've already been paid once from this HIT. Knowing how rarely new games come around, I'm sorta hoping I get booted from this one too. :p

But other people contribute in other ways... like advice and entertainment via shit posting. How does that figure into your numbers?
