    Do your tower and monitor have different connections available, see if they work with VGA cables. I've had a few outputs on various desktops die.

    DId you change your monitor to the HDMI channel? Some don't auto detect and need to be manually changed to the HDMI channel

    dumbest thing ever - in pulling on the hdmi cord to get it to reach the tower, it became too loose on the monitor end. just had to push it back in.....thanks guys!
