    Go with the 500 and buy externals as needed. We just got a 1tb external through amazon for about $80. It just needs to be larger than 256GB, have the ability to be partitioned, and USB 3.0. Warning though, you can't use it for both xbox and something else. But with the amazon signature card bonus sign up, and a random gift card I had from another survey elsewhere, I ended up paying $8 for my harddrive :D

    The good thing about doing it via externals is you can do some organization. We're probably going to get a second HD and one will be mine, and one will be hubby's and games will go in according to that.
