I'm not saying that it hasn't been tossed around the forum before, but it's incorrect information.

Spam score is calculated by submission speed (timer) and inconsistent responses, and quality score is calculated by incorrect responses to the goldens -- neither of which can be (or are) adjusted without additional inputs, so not doing them (or getting qualled out) doesn't allow for adjustment.
