Cool, feel free to come marry Matt and I'll move back to the East Coast! The income tax here is fucking nuts, the sales tax is nuts, everything costs more. The rent is crazy high, the groceries are super expensive. I still live 45 minutes from a damn Target even though I'm out of the rural South. I miss NY or really anywhere in the NE, I was going to go back but Matt convinced me to humor him and move where he wanted. I'm extremely miserable, I do not fit in here. Any job that would pay me well is closer to LA and fuck that noise, not working 90 minutes from my house near LA, which I dislike immensely.

Maybe if I was on the coast or up near Northern Cali, I would feel differently as I have spent time up there and like it a lot more, but this town is really not my jam apart from the pretty mountains. Even the restaurants are hit or miss and a lot of them close early because somehow I live in Cali and everything is closed earlier than when I lived in rural Ga.

So, yeah, I'm all kinds of homesick and it doesn't help that Matt hates it more than I do and he's the one that forced the move.

I'm getting soooo fed up of my cats tracking so much litter even when they have a booda box and a litter mat. The most intriguing part about this to me is the pellets.

 

Domestic cats can run about 28 mph when sprinting, Bearnie was basically the fastest cat in the world when he was scared and on the run!

Thanks but that wasn't what I was looking for. I just went to the boss and he said just uncheck the "when someone replies" feature under alert prefs.

 

I mean, I've had to pay big deposits and extra rent before, it was just the straight up blanket ban on cats so many places here. Or cats but no dogs, dogs but no cats. And the fact we had to find a place from 2200 miles away just didn't help. This whole move has been exhausting and we still don't have gas till Friday.

 

Does Matt enjoy being the little spoon? Considering this.

 

As a transplant myself I know your pain. You'll learn to accept how dumb the west coast is.

it was literally a life changer. After my mom died and my father had a stroke, it was up to me to change the litter box. And I couldn't because of my asthma. I pushed my way through it for about 6 months until I met a friend who had it, I didn't even realize she had a cat until I saw it. Switched 5 years ago and I will never go back.

They can kick the pellets out of the box, and they hurt like a Grinch to step on, hence the practicing for kids legos in the night one day. But they're also easier to see/pick up (you don't have to lug out the vacuum you can just grab a tissue or pick up and wash your hands). Doesn't help that one of my cats enjoys chasing them around the house.

The only downside I can see is that even though they try to bury the crap, you're still going to see it. It sits ontop of the pellets. So if you have your litterbox out in the open and are sensitive to it, that part will bug you. And a fresh crap smells worse than in standard litter. I just can't get over how much everything costs, Matt and I make a decent amount of take home pay and it does not go nearly as far here. If we didn't have a crazy nest egg from years of living in shitty places to save up, I don't see how we would ever be able to get a house here.
