Eventually they'll have to normalize and get in line with every other pc... or be left behind lol. I mean I know they pretend to like catering to the hipster crowd but really they just like money and eventually people will stop paying. Then when we get a decent Mac for what a decent PC goes for today I'll grab one.

 

lol so true. I'll also point out this is the first laptop that won't be 100% funded by his parents (they're generously donating a reasonable amount that would cover a PC, just not a mac)

 

As a person who just spent 4 grand at the apple store, I am not disappointed.

My husband's missed that deadline/cut off by like 2 months and they weren't including his model, even though it was the identical problem.

TF2 honestly doesn't look like anything else. It has a pretty distinctive style. The more realistic games all look samey to me, though, so I could definitely understand that viewpoint.

I was going to suggest picking up a refubrished unit, but lol @ their prices, just buy a new one if you have to macbook.

I don't even care about the proprietary connections that much because most of the time the proprietary stuff works pretty well. But don't use that proprietary equipment as an excuse to charge me $50-60 for a $1 cable after I already spent $1300 on a laptop. If you're going to be an upmarket brand then don't nickel and dime customers. I expect a $400 laptop to be a barebones package. I expect a $1000+ laptop to come with some free cables and even a case or something would be nice. Take your margin down to 95% instead of 100% and throw in a few extras; it will still be a multiple of what other hardware manufactures get.

I would be perfectly fine with a hackintosh desktop. For a laptop the MacBook keyboard and, especially, the touchpad blows everything else away.

Yea I always check out the refurbs but it's usually 10% off the new price and often times it's for a machine that's a year old. Plus if you use the education discount a refurb will only save like 50 bucks.

 

Oh their margins are a lot higher than 100% lol. At that volume their supply cost is likely 1/3rd or less than even wholesale prices.

 

I really wish there was an OW version for wwww, so I could run it alongside worker PC.
