You hate reading ebooks on the phone/tablet because of the light, it probably hurts your eyes/gives you a headache. (at least that's why I did)

I honestly thought I would hate paperwhite. I love real books (I'm the freak who smells them when they first come in). But honestly, the convenience is amazing. I love my Paperwhite, and honestly, I don't miss real books at all. And the screen even has a gritty feel too it, almost like a real page of paper.

plus, I can read books that I'd usually consider "too challenging" because I have the built-in dictionary. When I switch back to paper books, I find myself trying to long press a word for the definition.

There is hardly any glare at all, very matte. I've read in full sunlight on a cruise ship just fine. It literally looks no different than a book.

And the battery lasts forever (like 7 weeks)

 

With the backlight on it kind of feels like a cheap LCD although it is easy to read with it off it is matte and looks almost like real paper. It is kind of spooky

 

I mean. I’m watching them in the stands of a jr. high football game.

Wow, thanks for all the info! It's kind of hard to tell what it's like without seeing it in person (not sure what/if stores have any on display around here in my crappy town), so I was kind of basing it on some reviews I've watched and read. The fact that the screen almost feels like paper is really interesting, but I like the sounds of that. Thanks for the info!
