Some of the things I do threaten some people who want to maintain exclusivity on a set of power scripts.

They don't like the idea of a newcomer coming along and sharing that power with others.

When I lived in a cold weather state, I would put my hair dryer inside the engine compartment and aim it at the block. Seemed to work well enough.

 

There is no true rhyme, reason, or logic to anything. Its just a bunch of imaginary lines drawn in the sand by those who came long before me and I don't touch it because it is not worth my personal time, headache, and hassle to "fight da powaaa". If you wanna take up the cause, I have no qualms with it, I just don't want to be involved so I ask you don't make TurkerHub the hill you fight your battle on. Take it to reddit, it'll trickle here in a way I can simply go "shit guys I didn't do it but now that the cat's out the bag have fun."

I've followed your logic/reasoning across here, reddit, & MTC. I don't necessarily agree with all of it (especially many of the extrapolations you've made about myself & others as individuals through your own weird lens cam of a view port), but I also don't disagree with all of it, either.

See this is the kinda shit that makes folks apt to just ban you instead of discussing things with you. Correction, you act like a douche and you make assumptions that are negative when you know nothing about those folks as individuals or what they might know that you don't.

mTurk is kinda weird.

Turkers are loners who sit at computers all day and crave community.

At the same time, most Turkers are also your competitors (unless you're posting about working on a private qual that nobody else can get, etc.).

I just try to compensate for the power I grant my competitors by at least asking for a donation for the scripts that grant the most power or took me the most time to put together. Most script writers wouldn't even bother releasing or mentioning the existence of some of the scripts I sell.

The mix of inter/intra-group competition is what makes it such a mess.

Before I came to mTurk, I was making good money as an Internet marketer.

It's my job to be able to intuit more about people from what they say and how they behave than they know about themselves.

Applied psychology and all.

It's kinda like how I know a ton about Facebook's EdgeRank algorithm in spite of it not being publicly documented anywhere.
