This is a good time to reiterate:

I'm associated with Amazon in many different ways (including as an affiliate). I've made some pretty solid money with them in the past as an affiliate, and we're always doing this song and dance of updated terms in the Amazon Associates world. There are a lot of HUGE companies that Amazon knows about who break their affiliate terms outright (PCPartPicker immediately comes to mind as one that breaks disclosure terms, since someone on my FB just shared one of their links). Amazon chooses to turn a blind eye to them.

You guys were already using scripts that were "technically in violation of TOS", even though clarification with company reps gave everyone a sense of reassurance. So as funny as it is to see everyone panicking, the sky isn't necessarily falling until we start seeing posts about getting banned from mTurk for using Panda Crazy.

Amazon is good at playing that "Corrupt a Wish" game, aren't they?

I don't know how to answer this because it implies some sort of weird conspiracy group, and since @jessers is my only chat-buddy and she's script retarded I have no idea. It required straight up ignoring the TOS and was pointless once there were two sites, I don't think it'd take a rocket scientist to put two and two together beyond that

If you aren't doing anything absurd, carry on as normal.

I think it is a positive all around.
People may use scrapers less, which would equal more work that is picked up from PC/HF/OW for myself.
They say everyone can't use them, which would allow you to pull them right off the main page.
I get the axe some where and I get a better paying job...
