10/18 - Woke Wednesday!

Off topic banter, so I'm kind of thinking of buying a new house that I found over the weekend. Obviously I can afford it outside of it in case anything ever happened, but my honest to god logical reasoning is that my monthly mTurk earnings could literally pay the monthly mortgage. The idea of having a THIRTY YEAR debt is terrifying to me though, speaking as someone who isn't even thirty years old.

 

Hey @SeDuCeR I don't do OCMP5 much because I return every other one - I should probably just start doing them and not returning them.

I have a question for certain things and can't think of a good example so I'mma wing it. Let's say there's a sandpaper pad made specifically for an electric hand sander. If one of the queries is "Electric hand sander" - would that be acceptable to press? or should I do n/a since it's not the hand sander itself.

@gurlondrums just bought a house.. AFAIK her PE has never been higher since that exact fear is constantly motivating her to get stuff done judging by the amount of :flailing: I've seen her do these last few weeks haha.

Any time I’ve been in a situation to say things out loud, even to other turkers, I can’t. Try saying UNU out loud without cringing. You can’t. Say “I’m pandaing it” or “panda crazy.” Say “it’s on Endor” without relating it to Star Wars. It’s all so, so awkward. We are not talking about work when I find myself in a Pittsburgh later this year.

My GF and I both Turk, so I'm always using mTurk terms IRL.

I think it's one of those things you get used to as you do it, like hearing the sound of your own recorded voice.

But I use "grabbing", not "pandaing".

My brother is a failed turker so I use the terms to talk to him sometimes.

 

LOL. It's seriously only $150k (seriously my area's COL is awesome) and is the most perfect house I've ever seen as far as what's in my budget. I'd have a whole acre of my own land and my backyard would literally be a 355 acre state park, my front yard would be a 101 mile biking towpath and river. The idea that I'm thinking of impulse purchasing a house is kind of scary to me though because I work in finance IRL lol
