I used to do great as an Amazon Associate on Facebook, but Facebook broke that when they made their mobile app use its own browser with its own cookie store by default, rather than the system browser (Chrome, etc.) that people tend to buy things in.

Just gotta find another angle. You just go around prodding for opportunities that other people haven't considered, and when you find one, you just ramp it up and go all-in.

I tend to earn a ton of money for a while, then go broke when that method dries up.

mTurk is just something that puts food in my mouth while I sit out the dry spell, and I like it because all of the creative code solutions I'm forced to come up with as an mTurk script writer will inevitably come in handy in whatever my next big project is.

If I Turk beyond what I need for basic necessities, I'll feel stupid later on once I hit my next breakthrough, as though I wasted days, weeks, or entire months of my life working for something that my later earnings through a different method could've given me in mere minutes. That's the core belief that keeps my PE fairly low compared to most of the people here, and keeps me writing more code than actually Turking.
