We found a local jeweler as we had some quirky requirements. I needed palladium and we wanted to incorporate my mom's diamond into the ring (since hers was gold and I couldn't wear it).

I highly recommend taking the time to talk to some local people and maybe look into designing one yourself. It really doesn't add to the cost of the ring, and then you can say you made it just for her! It's really nice to know I'm literally the only person on the planet who has my ring.

 

Fiancee got mine at Zales for only $750. I got her wedding band at the local Ren Fest for $170. Make sure you know if she has any metal allergies and if she knows her size, tell them that.

 

I wouldn't buy an overpriced rock in the first place.

Actually @DikDik he has a point. Apparently a lot of people nowadays aren't into the whole diamond ring thing. You should find out if she really wants a diamond ring or wants something else. Maybe ask her best friend.

 

I'll have to check that out, I still need to talk to her parents(again) about it. Luckily we will be staying at their house this weekend so I can talk to them then. I talked to them last summer about it and they said yes, but to wait a year or so since we are in college. I feel like it's been enough time for me to bring it up and she really wants me to pop the question soon.

She doesn't want me to spend much money at all, like a couple hundred max. Her only requirements are diamond, 3 stone, and something like silver/gold since she has a nickel allergy. I'll have to check out some local jewelers to customize one
