I can read up to 1440 pixels/sec speed on my 60hz IPS :dunno:

I helped my brother pick pretty much the "best of both worlds" expensive 144hz IPS for both work/gaming back when he upgraded with $ from a major studio project, and while it was a really good compromise, it still couldn't match my TN for temporal resolution. You could get to maybe 2800px/sec before you couldn't read things on the scrolling map anymore.

That's a ton higher than a regular monitor, but still a ton lower than my TN.

So yeah, you can get a pretty good compromise with an IPS that's good enough for most people, but you can't get "the best of all worlds".

So on a 240hz IPS it might not make much of a difference between IPS and TN.

Lol I don't think you get what I'm getting at.

It doesn't matter how many frames you pump, if they're being pumped on top of other frames.

It's the inherent slow reaction time necessary to generate accurate colors that leaves part of the previous frame still "burnt in" to some degree during frame swaps. If you're pumping 240 frames, but the prior frame isn't fully cleared, you're not getting quite the effect you think you're getting.

The physical elements inside the pixels of a monitor have different reaction times for different colors, but in an IPS, they all ramp up/down more slowly than in a TN. That's the engineering cost of having more accurate colors.

How is the response time on OLED displays? I haven't ever seen that discussed much mostly because they are expensive

I ran out of wet food friday morning. I meant to pick up more the next day, but forgot. Bearnie just slapped his dry food off the table and looked at me like, "Grinch. THIS IS NOT HOW THINGS WORK!"

I should probably get some wet food.

Splash some water on it whilst yelling, "You want wet food?! There! The food is wet!"

Because my sense of humor is strange and that visual makes me want to cry laughing.

They wouldn't cancel each other out if you used both, and the affiliate link costs you nothing, so really you're just trying to screw whoever's content you're consuming and encouraging behavior like bitcoin miners being secretly embedded into websites. Good job dude. :ay:
Not as of right now. Right now you have to purposefully click on a banner to generate a lead, and its only on the Donation page of the site.

    This.

So, if I click on that banner and then go to my regular amazon smile page and buy something within 24hrs of clicking on your banner then you get a % of whatever I buy? If that's accurate then I'll try and remember to do that from now on.

I can short-circuit the discussion and endless forum/tech/etc. linking and tell you just from tons and tons of my own research (as well as some electronics experience I've gained through developing Arduino projects) that it's just not as responsive as TN.

Color accuracy and temporal resolution are two things that still are in direct conflict with one another until engineers come up with some crazy new technology that allows subpixels of different colors to be rendered (and UN-rendered, which is equally, if not more, important) in the same amount of time.

They've done some amazing things with LED technology to develop some great middle-of-the-road monitors (the one I picked for my bro is one I'd go with if I could only restrict myself to one and wanted it to be "pretty good at everything"), but when you use the word "best", the fastest ones still look like shit, color-wise.

Though I haven't tried literally every monitor that exists, and I haven't checked the related tech today. If you're an enthusiast on this kind of stuff, I'd be totally open to you spending some of that PE on a crazy $2000+ OLED screen that tries to be all things, and hearing back from you on the px/sec you can comfortably read once it's optimized for temporal resolution.
