I wonder how that would work with my cat Porgy cause he thinks I'm his mom since I was the first thing he saw/heard/fed him/kept him warm as a newborn. Would he feel conflicted about eating his mom or would he think, I should definitely eat her cause she wouldn't want me to be hungry...sure the cat food over there but shouldn't waste fresh meat!

A good friend of mine now has a house cat that she rescued as a kitten from under her neighbors house that was found eating its mother. Apparently someone in the neighborhood shot the cat but she was able to make her way back to her kitten. The kitten was only a few weeks old but instincts for survival were obviously there.

They are spoiled, we have salmon/sardine Sundays and whenever someone we know has scraps from hunting they give it to us for the animals so they like their fresh meat hahaha. I would be cool with being eaten though! Circle of life right there. Plus the idea of being scooped out of a litter box cracks me up because I have a morbid sense of humor.

That makes sense, just not sure the few hours till Matt came home would be enough to make his must eat mom to survive instincts kick in. If I ever do kick it at home, I will make sure Matt reports back if they did indeed start a mom buffet. For some reason this reminded me of how when Porgy was hungry as a baby he would waddle over on his little spazz bambi legs and start sucking on my hair until I got a formula bottle.
