dealership is kinda the only place i know to get the work done at

 

I travel alot for work curently in colorado off of i70 monday will be in denver tuesday will be in north platte wednesday will by in wyoming thursday iowa friday heading towards tucumcari NM

would trouble shoot the issue and do the work for free minus parts if you where in my path.

 

Google "auto repair shops near me". Throwing a dart at a map is going to get you a better job / deal than a dealership.

You could likely pay for all the parts and my travel to you for cheaper than you'll pay at a dealership.

 

Not trying to be an ass but honestly take any phonebook and flip through the yellow pages or google search local auto repair. 99% of those listed options are better then a dealership unless your car is still covered under a bumper to bumper and drive train warranty.

 

Maybe check (I'm not sure if they're in your area) valvoline, firestone, menike, walmart (if your local one has a service center), firestone, goodyear, etc.
Generally any repair shop will look at it for free

 

if you were only in the shreveport, la area that would be lovely

 

Alternator issues usually are:
Car is dead from sitting a short period of time
You are driving and the car is feeling short of electric power.

A bad ground:
immediately dead for no real reason
intermittent power
*Extra info - During this time of year, mice or other animals will go in and under cars for warmth. They will often chew ground wires, or knock them loose.

Also not trying to be an ass but ask any guy who works with his hands ( garbage man , lawn guy, ect) they will know somebody that can at least look at your car and give you an Idea .

 

Angie's List, any of those tasker apps. Hell even craigslist probably has some resources, though I'd definitely lean towards one of the webapps designed for building portfolios of work/reviews.

Another good resource for people who are looking to fix cars immediately - Local Facebook groups. They are actually really active and can have somebody come out to you within the hour to fix it on the cheap. They will actively fight over who can fix it cheaper.

 

The Internet is actually so awesome lol.

I can think of no less than 6 subreddits to link to you right now, but not a single one is remotely SFW.

 

And sorry to all if I seem to be so scatterbrained and lost... anxiety making me not be able to think about anything but her saftey and getting her to work

 

You could look on CraigsList and there are usually repair guys doing it on their own. Get their names and do a search on them in the area and you can usually narrow it down to a few that have good reputations.
So sorry, fingers crossed you find a workable fix.

 

In the meantime, my 10.00 Chris hit hung up on the last task- spent over an hour on this- so pissed.
