FWIW guys, despite the UI changes you might not be accustomed to (you get used to them and eventually love them as you poke around), Windows 10 is the best Windows.

Upgrades are still free until December if you "use assistive technologies" (I count using TTS in Overwatch, but they never ask).

I've held off on the upgrade for one of my desktops because of sound card drivers, but I'm taking the plunge with this one today. The other computers have been on W10 for a while now.

The multiple desktops and corner-snapping are worth it just by themselves.

The upgrade is only free until the end of the year and then costs $120 afterwards, so if you want to make the leap, now's the time.

Lol nah TBH I still like the low-latency performance of my tuned W8.1 for this system, but the impending deadline for the free W10 upgrade has me crossing my fingers hoping I'll be able to tune it to the same level of performance (and that hopefully a lot of my tweaks carry over, since there are so many that I don't remember most of them).

And there's a little bit of jankiness with Dexpot's virtual-desktop system on W8 compared to the native virtual desktops of W10, since a window that gains focus by itself (say via a browser alert) will appear on the wrong desktop and mess things up by appearing on all desktops afterwards. This doesn't happen with W10's native virtual-desktop system.
