The way affinity scores work on FB, you don't want padded numbers there anyway.
Not only is it not useful, but it actually works against you.
If you have a large # of people in a group, but a large % of them do not contribute meaningful posts, this will make FB view your group as "likely dead and/or unimportant to its members", and it will therefore rank low when it comes to a real user's news feed.

 

I'll take Land of Confusion and the one from that Tarzan movie.

 

If you really want to pay to grow your FB group, paying a writer for some good press on a niche-relevant blog that people trust would probably be a decent strategy.

Right. The thing is, the person I made the deal with said that they were real people who would contribute to and be active in the group. He didn't lie, it's just...not in English, or is completely meaningless. I don't need 10 Pakistani men commenting "hey baby" on everything I post.

Yo I saw the Turn It On Again tour in my senior year of high school and I had the foresight to get a shirt for my old man self and it is still two sizes too large.

Anyway, the best IM strategies leverage other people's stuff from beginning to end. Leverage the popularity of others' trending content, leverage the popularity of other sites (Facebook et al.), all to sell others' products. That's the essence and goal of IM.
