Going alone seems like it would be a terrible idea, or I would. I'm only 70 miles from Pasadena, it's not like it's a huge trip of some type.

Going alone could be fun. Then again, I'm from South Louisiana where a football game is the best place to make new friends.

 

Being from California and having lived in South Louisiana I can honestly say that people are ALMOST as friendly in Cali. Almost.

 

Hit or miss in Cali. People get straight up murdered at sporting events on the West Coast.

 

I just don't think it's a great idea considering I've been assaulted in my own workplace before, and being in a town I'm not from, where I don't know anyone, at a very large event is a good idea. It doesn't matter if it's a 1% chance, I'm a tiny AF person and it hasn't even been 6 months since a guy attacked me at my own job.

It seems like asking for trouble. I really don't need to get into trouble by myself. Plus, given that we gave my car to Matt's dad before we left the SE, if Matt is refusing to go, unlikely he lets me take the jeep.

He keeps trying to volunteer me to go with dudes I don't fucking know from his job, and he doesn't even know them either. So, yeah, no.

What seems reasonable is doing 1 thing your partner wants to do, that they are paying for, after said partner moved to the west coast for you in the first place, giving up her nice job, car, friens, etc in the process. I go with him to shit he wants to do all the time, and sit for hours at dirt bike races or whatever. It shouldn't be this impossible for him to do 1 thing with me that I want to do.

Yeah, I'm 6' and I tend to wear bad ass black boots that put me at 6'2" so I never had any problems with assault.

You know they saying "Stupid people don't know their stupid"? Well, it applies to lots of stuff. Selfishness, arrogance, gullibility, codependency... I was in a similar position a few years ago with my own shortcomings and actually becoming self aware of it was the hardest part. Didn't help me keep my marriage from falling apart, but at least I'm about 50% less of an ash hole now. Another 50% and I might actually be at a normal level.
