I'm doing a turkey because my husband will fry it and then it is less work for me. But I said I'd make buns...

I've got an oil-less fryer that my dad keeps here in case he decides to fry one for Christmas when they come. I'd half thought of using it for Thanksgiving this year, but that wasn't in the cards. I get torn between fried turkeys and Leah Chase style roasting. But my dad's always been the only fool in the family who will fry one. I know I'll kill myself with an oil fryer. LOL

 

Well, today's been a total bust.
Here's hoping all the requesters decide to skip the holiday so I have something to do at work tomorrow, since I'm the only one going in so it's going to be super slow :?(

 

What even is oil-less frying? If you don't have the fear dying while cooking a turkey, it just isn't worth it.

 

i think my dad would agree with you, which is why he brought this one 600+ miles and left it here "for us to borrow" for the last 3 years. LOL

This is the one we have, I think, or an earlier model at least: Big Easy The turkeys actually come out just like his regularly fried turkeys, with the yummy skin and everything. He keeps telling me to cook a big pork roast in it, but I haven't.

 

Air fryer, which is extremely similar to a convection oven in that they blow hot air onto the food to cook it. Different, but similar!

Soooo. We recently bought a house. and with the holidays coming up, my mind if on decorating (external & internal), I think it'd be neat to see some creativity. I don't suggest full house views (for security purposes, house numbers etc.). Even if it's just something you do during the holidays! Like, wreathe creation, wood burning ornaments, blah blah.

Maybe a holiday thread to showcase some of that would be neat!
