My first cert was CNE back in the 3.11 days, then, get this, Bay Networks. Haha, now there's a name we haven't heard in a long, long time.
So I'm a lapsed CNE/CCNP/Bay Certified, never got an MCSE.
I was a GroupWise Admin for a while too...
I've let my certs lapse but maybe I should gather money and get my CCIE of some type... I don't know. I don't want to work corporate again. Only if it's remote 100%, no travel.

Yep.
Microsoft makes a ton of major open-source contributions these days.
At least from a developer's perspective, they're not the same Microsoft you might've grown to hate.

Visual Studio, or VS Code? They're two totally different products.

VS Code is lightweight and zippy as hell for writing web code.

For serious scripts (anything I expect to be 500+ lines of code), I generally @require a local file with Tampermonkey's built-in editor and leave the code body blank, then copy the metadata to the local file and edit locally in VS Code until it's ready to be published.

That way, I get the benefits of a dedicated code editor (Intellisense is a must for writing serious scripts IMO), as well as the immediacy of instant testing. Edit in VS Code, save, refresh browser page. Best of both worlds.

Yeah, I meant VS code...not that I'm doing anything too complicated.

 

I have updated mine since NT because i just can't stand to not have the latest cert but the MCSE, and MCITP are only part of my certifications I like my Cisco Certs the best. I really love Cisco. Especially the VOIP stuff and VMWare certs too cause I mainly used those in the last 2 corps I worked at. Well those and Ironmail and NetApp
