So that this isn't a semi-illiterate/useless answer:

Paging is itself inefficient per my understanding. It pretty much always requires a 2nd, all but useless, query to the DB to find out how many rows to generate pages for.
You can do some forkery like LIMIT 11, but only display 10 rows and if 11 were grabbed you can assume that there are enough rows to generate a new page and then generate a +1page because of the understanding but the underlying 2nd issue still remains:

Right now running through 2,000-5,000 rows is no problem for even the most gimped VPS on DO. But if you'll look at your friendly neighborhood TO server serving up page 13,574 for 400,000+ rows of data you'll see it turns the server into a flaming pile of panda shit.

I opted for a more conservative approach as a base design standard and so the expectation was built from the get-go that if you want a massive data dump, you need to use the appropriate tools for the job (the static parts of the API that serve that content).

If I ever move the database to Google / AWS, that issue ceases to exist but that would require TV being a profitable business instead of a pet project which ain't neva gonna happen lol. Maybe I'll generate a "requester of the week" email chain for a $3/mo subscription or some crazy crap like that one day and it'll be feasible.. but as is I think its mostly fine, just grab data dumps from the API there's really no value in manually perusing through the tables besides curiosity value.
