I used to Turk about two years ago and it seemed there were a lot more batches. Where did they all go?

It's really my pending earnings that has taken a hit. I try to keep it above a certain level, but it's almost half that right now.

The tools used & resources available to folks have advanced rapidly while you were away. Batches don't last very long if they're good. Word gets out, the tools available to complete them are better, and folks have learned to find them themselves.

Bad batches that can be made good still exist & sit on the board for moderately longer, but usually a handful of folks can still kill them in a few hours.

 

Things have changed a lot since then. The community adjusted and made more tools to catch things and the population has been weeded out to basically the hardcorish of turkers now. Basically everyone is a mini Razorbacks these days. Still money to be made on this platform, but not as easy as it was back then.

 

I have a few stores close to me too, but the satisfaction of a grocery store trip only taking like 5 minutes to run in and grab meat (twss) and produce is priceless. And makes meal planning easier since you can obviously go back/to any product without needing to go back through aisles if you forgot something or changed your mind. It also minimizes impulse buying because I see things in my cart for long enough to be like "nah, maybe I only need one tub of ice cream, not two." (or the opposite )

 

Doing these Waffle House checks, it's odd.
Hardly anyone orders their Hashbrowns, which are by far the best item on the menu.
Also, it's still very expensive.
God I wish we had this here. My region is just not into knowing where your food comes from. I love being able to see the short-order cook my food.
And this is the best part of the visit by far, I've never had better and I lived in Seattle and traveled to coffee lands far away:

I don't have fresh yet, but I used to use pantry and I didn't think the requirements were that bad. It's just kind of annoying to try to maximize your box but the cost goes up too, so sometimes I'd get what I need and not have a full box, but to fill the box I'd be paying more for stuff I don't necessarily need. I also hate how pantry has some items you can only get through there or they are more expensive on the regular site.

I use jet now for those kinds of things, since there's no "box" or separate pantry program and they have free shipping over 35. I believe you pay 5 in shipping for items kept cold but I haven't tried that out yet.
