BASICALLY. They aren't making them prescription, so i'm basically like "Why are you telling me about something I could never have even if I wanted them?"

 

I've seen these but was skeptical of them l let me know if he gets them and they work

He keeps saying he's going to use his turk earning for them, but he also hasn't even bothered with turk in like a week or more, so I feel like i'm going to end up getting them for him for Christmas lol. The pair he wants are like $100 I think though.

Blue-spectrum light is essentially the primary sensory cue your body uses to calibrate your circadian rhythm. That's a major reason why a lot of monitors these days have "blue light reduction" modes.

I don't turn this feature on with my computer, though, because I'm paranoid of burning out my screen's subpixels unevenly and making the colors on my screen last accurate as a result.

I do enable it on my phone when I go to bed though, along with a night-time filter that makes the screen darker than the darkest regular setting. Helps me get to sleep much quicker than staring at a bright phone emitting a ton of blue light.

 

i turn off the screens and flip my phone? seems like less trouble

 

I just become one with my electronics and bypass the need of displays.

 

@Hummingbirdee uses one I think, we talked about it awhile back. Don't remember what kind she uses. But I think I might finally pull the trigger on one.

 

That was one of the things he talked about (I think it used to be a huge problem for me, but I finally managed to get my sleep under control with short term melatonin use, and then an anxiety medication and OTC sleep stuff), but also I guess blue light causes a lot of eye strain? He works on a computer all day at his regular job, then comes home and plays Runescape for hours, so if they actually work it would be really good for him.
