My school was like The Wonder Years with a few black and hispanic kids. Even accounting for Rose Colored Glasses... I got in a fight in the 9th grade and it was the talk of the school for the entire year. We used to have squirt gun fights in the hallways, the school didn't even try to stop us. So hundreds of kids brought toy guns to school and soaked all the hallways, the understanding was no playing in class. But the halls were skating on water and I saw a 65-ish concentration camp survivor teacher woman about the size of a prune go skating down the hall like the olympics and we all cheered her on...

It was a magical time I swear, and we thought it sucked
