Welcome! I hope you feel comfortable posting here more often. I think a lot of your opinions agree with the masses here, besides the use of TM (don't tell Randomacts), but if it works for you, that's all that matters. We all have our own workflow and what's good for the goose isn't always good for the gander.

A lot of us here work for primary (in some cases, only) income. It can be really scary when it gets slow or you're unable to turk for whatever reason, but in my experience it ebbs and flows. 5 dollar days and 100 dollar days balance each other out. I spent all day yesterday being anxious as hell about worker becoming 'standard' too, but we've still got www. I'm just hoping they didn't mean it'll reset tonight instead of last night. I mean, it makes more sense to close the doors to something after business hours on a Friday, rather than before? Regardless, whatever happens, we have amazing people dedicated to providing us compatible resources quicker than humanly possible, and endless selfless tech support when something goes wrong.

Thanks for the feedback. I hope to be able to post more often. I'm still learning how to use the forum but I appreciate those who took the time to comment.

If anybody would like to give me their opinion on another issue...

I received the Masters in May -- but then lost it about 6/7 weeks ago due to a mass rejection (over 2500 rejects from one batch). The HITs were a sentiment analysis task for twitter messages (which is a somewhat subjective task). The requester said that I marked "positive" a little more often than most people.

I emailed Amazon and explained my side: Even though I received many rejections, these rejections should sort of be viewed as one rejection because they all came from one batch. Receiving 2500 rejections from 2500 requesters is a sign of a bad worker -- but 2500 rejections from one batch simply means I may have (but I doubt it) messed up on one batch. I guess I feel these rejections should be "weighted" differently because they all came from one batch versus spread out over many batches/requesters. Prior to this, I had a 99.9% approval rating -- now I have a 99.2%.

Amazon never replied to my email. The automated message which informed me of the Masters qual. revocation said that if I improve my approval rating, I might be able to regain the qual. However, with over 300K HITs, this will be almost impossible to regain a 99.9% approval rate.

And, this happened at the worst time -- just when I was depending on mTurk as my main source of income. I went from regularly having $100+, sometimes even $200+ days, to now feeling lucky if I make $50 a day (working practically all day on it). I've only got one closed qual, which only posts twice a week with small batches.
