I told her that if she keeps up with cheerleading (she did the little kid cheerleading this year, I don't remember if that was one of the pictures I showed you, probably not) all through High School there's a chance she could get a scholarship to help her pay to go to a better college, and then she was fully all over it. I'm pretty proud that at 6 years old she already knows that education is both important and expensive, and is all over ideas to help out with that. The smart little shit.

I mean obviously you made the right choice, because you're still a huge fan of the place which means you must've not had a bad experience there. But seriously, what kind of parent thinks that telling their teenage child not to do something is actually going to work (in that kind of scenario)?

 

Hubby and I have dreams of Thing 1 becoming a Georgia Bulldog so I think I will start pushing the Ducks. Thanks for the tip Birdie!

If @ChrisTurk were around, he would back me up when I say it's just what you think college looks like when you step into the town. I kept seeing campuses and thinking, meh, that's nice I guess.

I was immediately smitten there though. I was 100% sure in that moment lol. And they waived out of state tuition for me and threw mad stacks at me, so he couldn't be that mad. Matt is pretty blase about things, but even he turned down a full ride from Georgia Tech to go to Clemson instead cause he liked it so much when he was there too. It's 100% a cult though, if you last past the first semester they brainwash you so that you can sing the cadence count in your sleep.

I totally support her cheerleading ambitions! Anyone who shits on cheer hasn't seen it at a high level I think, cause that's a very high injury prone sport (like dance is) and it takes hours and hours of dedication. I never did the actual cheer thing, but a lot of the dancers would help with summer practices cause they needed small folks who were flexible and could tuck well. They used to call me Unbreakable Birb cause I would tuck and roll so well when dropped.
