01/10 - Wack Wednesday!

DIDN'T WE GET IN A FIGHT ABOUT THIS TOPIC YESTERDAY DUDE...not with me, but still......

 

no he's right, at some point, you just have to feel hungry. But I've got the calories where I can use supplements to not feel that way right now, so I'm using them. When I loose weight and my daily calories go down, I'll cut the brown sugar, and then when I have to, I'll cut something else. But for right now, I have around 1400 calories a day to play with

 

Whoa friendo, I actually didn't go back and read yesterday, but as a standalone comment what he just said is.. pretty fair & accurate.

As someone who has considered personal training, it's just incredibly frustrating to me to see a big circlejerk of excuses for not having any self-discipline. Self-discipline involves suffering. Yeah, it feels like shit. But the emotional pain of failing yourself needs to be stronger than the physical discomfort of hunger, or your attempt to stay at a calorie deficit and lose weight will fail.

That's why I emphasized yesterday how important it is to thoroughly hate your current state, because the pain of being in your current state needs to be stronger than the pains you're going to run into when you try to change it. Whichever pain is stronger wins. If you just "kinda didn't like being overweight", but you HATE feeling hungry and are constantly reminded of how hungry you feel, you're eventually going to succumb to old habits. Your mind is just doing what it thinks its job is: Helping you avoid pain and pursue pleasure.

Oh for sure. I work in an office that sells vitamins and supplements and herbal stuff (and a lot of snake oil for good measure), I know all about how booty some of those things smell and taste. It's just funny to me because Chris has no value in his tastebuds as it is, so it's unsurprising he'd recommend drinking a tree to be able to shit substantially.
