    No, they're not wrong. Turkers used to think there was a difference between a soft and hard block. People told each other if you received an email from mturk saying you were blocked, it's a "hard" block and a demerit on your account. If you were blocked from a requester but didn't receive an email, it was a "soft" block, and your account wasn't tarnished in any way.

    There was never such a thing, a block has always been a block, just a lot of misinformation that apparently got passed on to requesters through salty workers.

    Eyyy since we're doing requester block talk right now I've been meaning to ask this:

    To anyone that has received a block from a requester and got MTurk's old 'nastygram' email (spoilered below), I was wondering if that happened in 2017. The last one I got was 10/11/2016 from CopyText and I've had some blocks since then (most have been removed). I'm thinking they stopped the nastygrams a while back because I haven't seen anyone say they've received one in forever.

    On a similar note, there's no unique message for being blocked on Worker. It's just the same "you do not meet quals" message.
